chelsea & josh's october wedding day arrived with an early cold front, complete with rain & snow & dropping temps. their planned outdoor celebration was moved inside and coats were added to the pretty dresses. the blustery fall weather didn't phase them though, and from the first second i saw chelsea in the hotel room to the end of their evening, she beamed from ear to ear. she knew she was marrying the love of her life and nothing was going to dampen her spirits. she floated around between her girls, tears flowed and laughs were contagious as they got ready...
LOVED her beautiful gown. and the perfect etsy find, her personalized hanger.
her orange shoes were perfect for a fall wedding.
wedding bling! soooo pretty!
meanwhile down the hall, josh hung out with his guys as they got ready & watched some football. here he opens his wedding day gift from chelsea, an amazing nixon watch!
his dad helped him with the finishing touches. love this picture.
soon it was time to head over to the ceremony site, which was held at the ken caryl terrace gardens - an absolutely amazing venue!!
when we got to the venue, chelsea donned her beautiful dress - transforming officially into a bride :)
chelsea, you are so so pretty!!
i have a thing for succulents and was SO impressed by her beautiful flower bouquet! the colors were amazing & i loved the succulents tucked in.
peeking at her groom while we waited for the first look ;)
the rain broke for a few minutes and fortunately, we were able to shoot the first look outside. i was so excited to have the beautiful fall foliage in the background. here, josh waits with his best man.
personalized wedding converse = awesomeness.
chelsea & her entourage head out for the first look. chelsea, you were absolutely radiant walking up behind your love!! your smile was from ear to ear!
it was a beautiful moment between them with tears & laughter & intimacy. i so loved that they chose to see each other before their ceremony. as josh said, "as soon as i saw her all the jitters went away." it's so neat when a couple chooses this, to have a few moments alone to hug and be excited and calm each other. the wedding day can be such a whirlwind and i feel like the first look is a pause button in the day, to just rest in each other's presence.
LOVE the next two pictures. i think it goes without saying that josh's bride took his breath away! ;)
we were able to shoot a few portraits outside before the sleet picked back up again & we hurried inside. the trees were so beautiful outside so i'm glad we had a few minutes!
wedding sweets :)
right before the ceremony started, as we waited in the back room - josh & chelsea shared a quick final moment together before tying the knot. love her cute scrunchy-face smile.
josh's adorable nephew announced the coming of the bride down the aisle!
and his nephew announced the new mr & mrs on the way back down the aisle. such a cute idea!
soon it was time for their party!! they had an amazing reception with tons of laughter & dancing & some special toasts.
i totally teared up watching their first dance - as they sang to each other.
their love & affection is written all over them. i love how they look at each other, and watch each other, and how you can tell behind their sweet smiles is a lifetime of love. they are each other's best friend.
chelsea & her dad...
josh & his mom...
these two are peas in a pod :)
c & her new father in law.
i love, love, love a grandpa & his granddaughter. so sweet.
and i'll end with this - one of my favorites from the reception. i love how much fun they have together, and how comfortable they are in each others arms. chelsea & josh, bearing witness to your love and capturing it in photographs was such an incredible honor. i went home that night with a full heart, so grateful for the job i have, and so encouraged by the love you have for and display to each other. you have a rare thing, hang on to it and have so much fun on this new adventure together. all my best!
